Veiled Constellations is a conference designed to problematize the existing discourses surrounding the veil, while exploring the veil’s subversive potential. The conference is the best platform to discuss all opinions by liberal, conservative and Islamic constellations and will re-evaluate the veil in an entirely new light, by assembling multiple discipline perspectives. The Veiled Constellation conference aims to consider the affects of re-understandings of the veil on the personal, social and political lives of the veiled people. The event also encourages participants to relate radical reinterpretation of the veil to the religion of Islam and the relationship between Muslims and contemporary society.
