The 14th International Metrology Congress is going to be held in Paris from 22 to 25 June 2009. This major international conference of metrology will help manufacturers by giving new and practical solutions to meet their needs and which are easy to put into practice within their organization. The Congress has the aim to assess developments in metrology and their implications for industry, R&D and society, to promote measurement as a tool for quality within companies, to contribute to improving measurement processes and to review progress in innovative technologies. There will be nearly 1,000 participants coming from 50 different countries. There will be a unique trade exhibition of latest technical advances with about 90 exhibitors as well as 4 technical visits to companies implementing best practices. There will be presentations of papers, participatory sessions to discuss specific topics with specialists, and six round tables. There will be about 180 presentations and the participants will discuss on key areas like

- Metrology and reduction of greenhouse effects gas
- Metrology and Industrial performance
- Industrial temperatures and new materials
- Accreditation, economic and strategic issues
- Wireless measurements in the industrial environment
