The 2nd National conference: Addiction and the Liver aims to bring together leading experts in the field to discuss the current issues, latest developments and practical management of drug and alcohol users with clinical and psychiatric problems. The objectives of the conference are to provide a comprehensive overview of the incidence and pathophysiology of drug or alcohol-related liver damage, an insight into the clinical course of viral hepatitis infection in drug users, an understanding of the harmful effects of alcohol, and how best to prevent alcohol-related harm, and an update on developments in the treatment of addiction.
