7th Annual Multidisciplinary Brain Injuries Conference will provide a forum to discuss and present evidence-based protocols with new discoveries in technology and research in Brain Injury and to network with a nationally-known expert faculty. The conference will provide excellent opportunities to the attendees to identify diagnostic and outcome measurement tools for use with individuals with brain injury, compare and contrast differences in blast injuries vs other mechanisms of acquired brain injury, discuss the concept of neuroplasticity as it relates to cognition and the development of cognitive treatment strategies, examine pharmacologic approaches to the treatment of brain injury, describe issues related to aging and sexuality for individuals with brain injury, explore the relationship between vision and motor learning following brain injury, and describe approaches to working with patients and families, addressing the issue of “difficult” families. There will be held four Preconferences on 4th March 2009, on key issues: “Mild Traumatic Brain Injury and Postconcussion Syndrome: The New Evidence Base for Diagnosis and Treatment”; “Technology as a Tool in Brain Injury Rehabilitation”; “Treating Disruptive Behavior Following Traumatic Brain Injury”; and “Family Focused Brain Injury Rehabilitation".
