The First International Conference on Human Rights in Southeast Asia is organized by the Southeast Asian Human Rights Studies Network (SEAHRN) in association with Center for Human Rights Studies and Social Development, Mahidol University. The conference will assemble academicians and members of civil society, regional and global agencies and the media working to promote better comprehension and protection of human rights in the Southeast Asian region. This forum will proffer a significant platform for exchange of ideas and information among various groups related to Human Rights sector from around the Asia and abroad. The First International Conference on Human Rights in Southeast Asia will focus on diverse themes such as: Universality and particularity of human rights, Individual and collective rights, Gender, sexuality and women’s rights, Rights of vulnerable and marginalized groups, Peace, conflict, security and human rights, Challenges to human rights in Southeast Asia, and Media, advocacy and popularization of human rights.
